Here are some tips on writing a good entry based on the feedback received from the former judging panels.

Start Early

Please try to submit your entries early and don’t leave it until the last minute!  Remember the deadline for entry is Thursday January 20th @23.59PM

Teamwork

Don’t leave it to a single person to prepare and submit your entries.  The best entries are as a result of teamwork. Remember to get a “fresh pair of eyes” to review your entries before you submit.  Better you find any mistakes rather than the judges.

Tell a Story

Where the category requires description, create a narrative that spans your entry.  The judges want to see how your submission flows from start to finish

Relevance & Fit

Does your entry fit the category or categories into which your are entering.  Look at this carefully and consider that another category or categories may be more suitable.

Consistency

Be consistent.  If you refer to something at the beginning,  please demonstrate how this was achieved and what the results were.

Use The Entry Form

Follow the structure of the entry form!

Client Testimonials

Make testimonials relevant to your submission.  A testimonial that refers to the specifics of the submission is much more valuable than a simple “ this was a great piece of work”.  Positive feedback in the clients own words is a powerful statement about your work.

Appendices

Don’t include huge appendices to your entry.

Consider the Judges

When writing your submissions, try to put yourself in the shoes of the person reading your entry.  If you were a judge how would you like to have a submission presented to you.  Bear this in mind when writing your entry.

And Finally……….

Attention to Detail

Proofread, proofread and then proofread again.

It may be dull but it will make your entries better.

Please avoid the dreaded typos  – they are noticed.
